Family Promise coordinates local faith-based congregations in the IHN Program which provides congregational spaces for overnight stays, volunteers to prepare and share dinner and food and other items to get a family through the day. At the day center, staff deliver case management services, coordinate community services, and counsel guests as needed. Case management services include an assessment of the guests and their specific barriers to self-sufficiency, short-term milestones with tasks to accomplish and long-term goals to help plan for their future. Part of that plan includes financial education through New Beginnings which teaches guests to budget, spend frugally and plan for unexpected expenses.
Through a new partnership with Grace Episcopal Church, Family Promise offers The Grace to Succeed Transitional Housing Program for guests as they exit the IHN Program but still need case management support. The Grace Sunshine Houses will provide an affordable, safe and consistent home for guests as they start work, pay off debt and become fiscally stable.
