The Greenville Housing Authority has an essential mission to provide affordable housing and workforce housing assistance for veterans as well as low to moderate income families. TGHA plays an important role in providing affordable housing and workforce housing opportunities for the residents of Greenville, South Carolina.

Since 1938, TGHA has provided housing assistance in the city of Greenville, South Carolina, utilizing traditional programs: Public Housing and HCV (Housing Choice Vouchers), previously Section 8 Housing Choice Vouchers, funded by the federal Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD). In recent years, TGHA has updated its housing portfolio with modern mixed-income developments and continues to search for ways to expand affordable housing throughout the City of Greenville and Greenville County.

Today, TGHA provides rental assistance to over 5,000 families via the Housing Choice Voucher Program and through affordable housing properties that it owns and/or manages. In 2014, TGHA created the Greenville Redevelopment Corporation, which is a 501c3 entity controlled by TGHA to serve as an entity to help expand its mission of building communities of opportunity for Greenvillians. In addition, our agency’s mission extends well beyond brick and mortar and into the lives of the families we serve. We have a dynamic Resident Services Department to work with our families to help them in meeting their individual self-sufficiency goals and facilitate a thriving environment for our senior and disabled families to age in place.
